Police arrested 55-year-old Nicholas Vigliarulo Thursday after they found him walking his dog, while his girlfriend cried inside a neighbor’s house with a cut on her hand and making claims he had dragged her with a dog rope around her neck. “It was the kind of rope you would walk a dog with, like a pit bull, like a strong dog,” next-door neighbor Eva Smith said.
Smith said she heard the female victim crying for help outside on Northeast 7th Avenue in Delray Beach, during a downpour. She and another neighbor said it was a horrible sight: The victim crying and bleeding on the street with the leash around her neck. According to the arrest report, when officers responded and approached Vigliarulo, he reached toward his back pocket. An officer quickly grabbed his arm and discovered on his person an 8-inch hunting knife, five small folding knives, a pair of pliers, three zip ties and gloves. “Apparently he was saying he was immortal and he was a god and he can’t die,” Smith said.
